ABOUT

Hidden Acres is a Christian Camp and Retreat Center whose mission is to be a place set apart to experience Christ, expand community, and equip leaders.

Our vision is to impact lives and develop leaders with a Christian worldview and Christ-like leadership.

The heart of our ministry is

  • one, to be a place where low income and unreached children can experience Christ through the camp ministry.

  • two, to be a place where the body of Christ is equipped to lead and where they can find opportunities to serve the community through the ministry of camp.

When churches and groups rent our facilities their rental fees help us to pay our day to day cost of maintaining our facilities as a welcoming place for community as well as help fund our summer camp and outreach programs.

At Hidden Acres we are intentional about helping our campers, staff, and mission camp participants grow as leaders. We plan times of teaching and preparation focused on leadership and spiritual growth during our summer camp season and during our fall and spring Youth Leadership Weekends.

HISTORY

Hidden Acres is a Christian Camp and Retreat Center that was founded in 1984 by a group of visionaries lead by Pastor Charles Diffee, who had personally experienced the evangelistic power of camping ministry. United with a desire to find a place where their church family could be transformed by God, they looked for the ideal location. They found exactly what they were looking for in the untouched 200 acres hidden in Kaufman County. Hidden Acres has become a place where people can be drawn from their routines into a sanctuary where they can enjoy creation, recreation, relationships, and most importantly a place to grow in communion with our Creator.
